Aldersgate Receives $5000 Grant

WILLOW GROVE, PA, August 15, 2007 – Aldersgate Youth Service Bureau announced today that it has received a $5,000 grant from American Financial Realty Trust (NYSE: AFR) to fund “Spread Our Wings”, a capital campaign to expand and renovate Aldersgate’s facility. The donation was made possible by AFR’s Charitable Donations Committee (CDC), an employee-run charitable giving program that provides donations to community-based nonprofit organizations.
“This is a tremendous grant for a small nonprofit like ours”, said Deborah Sapin-Feldstein executive director for Aldersgate Youth Service Bureau. “This contribution will go a long way in helping us renovate and expand our current facility to meet the social service requirements of families throughout Montgomery, Bucks and Philadelphia counties. We are extremely grateful to AFR and its employees for making this possible.”
Based in Willow Grove, PA, Aldersgate provides a broad range of social, therapeutic and community services for children, teens, adults and their families. Addressing a wide variety of life issues, programs include counseling, psychotherapy, foster care, substance abuse prevention and intervention, school-based support and substance abuse awareness.
The Charitable Donations Committee is an employee directed and managed philanthropic program that links financial donations to local charities of importance to AFR employees and serves as a catalyst for employee volunteerism throughout the Philadelphia region. Since 2005, more than 25 grants totaling $75,000 have been awarded to local charities.
